It means that this year we're presenting SOME of our films in person and ALL of our films as scheduled livesteeams online on your choice of device, and from the convenience, comfort and safety of your home.

To do this, YoFiFest has partnered with Eventive, an industry-leading streaming film festival platform, to host our 2021 festival films and filmmaker talkbacks on a customized platform.

It means that this year we're presenting our films online starting in October and live online events running from November 7th through 22nd. You have the flexibility of watching the films “on demand” to fit your schedule, on your choice of device, and from the convenience, comfort and safety of your home.

To do this, YoFiFest has partnered with Eventive, an industry-leading streaming film festival platform, to host all of our 2020 festival films and filmmaker talkbacks on a customized platform.

It our case it means that the film and filmmaker talkback will happen live at a set date and time, just like in the theater, but you can watch it simultaneously online from anywhere.

VOD is an abbreviation for "video on demand", which means you can view a movie at any time you choose.

Live streaming is when a live event is sent over the Internet in real time at a scheduled time and date. It is often interactive, so the audience can ask questions during the program.

Livestreams are not the same as Video On Demand (VOD), so the films are only available to watch at specific show times. Please take a look at the schedule for specifc details about the dates and times of each film.

You may pre-order films just like you would buy your tickets to the theater in advance, and you will receive an email notification when they are available to watch.

You can begin watching the Virtual Festival films at 12:01AM EST on October 23, and they will be available through 11:59PM EDT on November 20. You may pre-order films and events before October 23, and you will receive an email notification when they are available to watch.

Please check the schedule for live events, such as the filmmaker talkbacks, workshops, and the Audience Choice Awards ceremony.

Before you can start watching, you will need to activate your Eventive account linked to your pass or ticket.

If you purchased a pass, locate your pass confirmation email. The subject line is: Pass order confirmation - YoFi Fest

From the confirmation email, you should see a link to access your account. You can also login to your account at https://yofifest2020.eventive.org/login

If you don't remember your password, you can also reset it there.

After logging in, view your passes by clicking the pass icon in the upper right corner. If you see Details Needed in red, see steps below for setting up or transferring passes.

Once you are logged in and your pass information is updated, your account has been activated. Now, you are ready to start watching. Click Watch Now to access the virtual festival or visit https://watch.eventive.org/yofifest2020

All customer payment info is submitted securely to payment processor, Stripe, using the most stringent, PCI Level 1 compliant security protocols. Eventive and YoFi Fest do not store any sensitive customer credit card details.

You may request that your payment information be un-linked from your account by choosing the “account settings” link at the upper right while logged into your Eventive account.

Eventive and YoFi Fest do not share personal information with any third parties without your explicit consent. All personal information is subject to the Eventive Privacy Policy, which you can learn about here and the YoFi Fest data privacy policty which you can view here.

When you purchase a movie, you will see an indication of how long you have to start watching below the “watch now” button on the film page.

Once you press play, you'll have 24 hours to view the movie. After you’ve started watching, the indication will change to show you how much time is left to finish. The festival ends at 11:59 PM EDT on November 20, so plan accordingly.

Just like watching the movie in the theater, it will start at a scheduled time and play through continuously. Also like watching in the theater, you cannot pause, rewind, fast forward or play it again.

Watching films with other people is great, so you can absolutely share the festival with people in your household and watch together on the same screen! If they'd like, they can make a donation to help us cover the streaming fees here, but that is totally up to them.

If you would like to invite a friend or family member outside of your household to watch a film, please encourage them to purchase a pass  or buy a ticket so they can watch it on their schedule from the comfort and safety of their home.

Remember, one big reason we're having a virtual festival is so that people can practice propper social distanceing, so please make safe decisions!
